Time for a new update!

Here is another update from Sint Maarten :)
I now totally feel home here on the island! I've worked for 5 days in total now and 4 more to go. Besides the work, I have plenty of other things to do. Tanja and I sometimes go for a walk on the hill. It is very intensive because it's warm and we have to climb so it is a great work out!
Tuesday, I went to the movie called 'Oblivion' with Kees, Tanja's husband. It costed only 4 dollars! This should be the same in Holland! ;)
Yesterday when I was selling car raffle tickets at shops with Kimberley, a girl from the AIDS Foundation, we also stopped at a radio station and asked whether the dj wanted to buy a ticket. He was very enthusiastic and even bought 3 tickets! But this wasn't the best part... Very unexpectedly, he asked if we wanted to promote the car raffle on the radio! So, we were on air for 1,5 minute! It was a very nice and unexpected experience!
Today, Hemelvaartsdag, was a free day for everybody. Our plan was to go kayaking to the small island Pinel. Unfortunately, even on Sint Maarten the weather can ruin your plans... It rained all day long so we spent the day inside the house playing Monopoly. Around 5pm, it started to get a little bit sunny so Tanja and I went for a walk along the beach to Fort Amsterdam. There isn't much left of this fort but it was a nice walk and we enjoyed the very short period with sun of today.
Tomorrow, I will be home alone with the kids so we will see what we will do. I hope the weather gets better!

Dear Rosa,
So nice to hear of you again. Unfornunately it did'n work out yesterday. I noticed that you were on line on facebook. By the time you saw my chat I already had left to work in the garden. That is what I do when I am alone at home. Luckily I have had a busy working week, so time flies and before I know it Mum and Sara will be home again. Living this tropical life must be wonderful, I envy you ;-).
Did you register the radiobroadcast, or is it possible to find it on the internet? I am afraid not, but what a story this is, well done. You see, every effort get's rewarded!
I am sorry to say this, but I think this weekend is the start of your last week on the island... but you are most welcome home, I would love te see you again.

Wat ontzettend leuk om je blog te lezen!
Wat gaaf dat je daar 'opeens' op de radio te horen bent, haha wanneer gebeurt zoiets nou!? ;)
Geniet van je (helaas) laatste week! En leuk om je weer te zien, je verhalen te horen en foto's te bekijken als je terug komt in Nederland!!
